I have been working for the last 12 years for Deep Ocean AS (ex-Trico Supply UK), and 10 of them as a Chief Engineer on ROVSV Deep Vision. For the time on board I have been heavily involved with all aspects of operation of the vessel and any major and minor modifications of the vessel and its integrated systems.
In 2012 Deep Vision was fully modified from a typical PSV design vessel with additionally installed ROV on deck into fully integrated ROV support vessel. A completely new module was installed and integrated into the old accommodation of the vessel with ROV hangars for 2 x working class ROV with all required LARS and A-frames. The new module was equipped with new ROV control room and additional cabins and offices for project personnel. The module was equipped also with separate air conditioning/ventilation system, cooling for various equipment and all relevant sanitary systems – all of them fully integrated into the existing vessels’ systems. I have been actively involved in the designing and completion of the module construction in Orskov Shipyard – Denmark.
For my years spend on Deep Vision we have been working for various clients in the oil and gas industry, most of them leaders in the energy market. For the first five years I have spent on board the vessel was involved in a long term charter with BP and was working in North sea serving BP assets and complying fully with all HSEQ standards set by BP. We also had various projects for other oil companies – TAQA, Shell, Equinor (Statoil), Enquest, North stream, Total, Talisman, Dana petroleum etc. The vessel was involved in three consecutive years with a complete structural and IMR survey of the North Stream - 1 pipelines in Baltic sea. We had projects of pipeline survey in Mediterranean Sea between Libya and Malta for Green stream, where the vessel was accidently involved in the rescue of more than 900 migrants. Deep vision was also taking part in projects in the renewable sector, working for Dong Energy on the Walney field, where part of the job we have performed was as a support for air diving.
As chief engineer on the vessel I have been heavily involved with all aspects of preparation and planning for particular projects. I have been regularly involved in mobilisation of projects as well as fully responsible for the technical department on the ship. I’m well familiar and experienced in investigation and fault finding of issues related to the DP system, offshore heave comp. cranes as well as any other deck offshore specific equipment. The safe and efficient atmosphere and environment in my team is always been a goal for me. The full compliance with all current HSEQ safety requirements and standards in the oil and gas and offshore industries is a paramount in my career and work ethic.
Before I have joined Deep Vision I have been working on AHTS “ Northen Chaser” & PSV “ Northern Queen” boats for Deep Ocean AS (ex- Trico Supply Ltd UK).
I also have a large experience working on different type DP1 and DP2 class offshore vessels such as OSV, AHTS & PSV in different offshore companies with mixed crew onboard.
